Senior Payroll Specialist (EMEA Region)

 

The Senior Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing the full scope of payroll processes across the EMEA region in collaboration with external payroll providers, ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees. This role involves close collaboration with HR and IS&T departments on payroll-related matters and applications, as well as acting as an administrator for local payroll providers. It is a hybrid position that requires a minimum of two days of presence in the Ratingen (Germany) office per week.

Your tasks

  • Process day-to-day payroll activities
  • Export and verify information from SAP for employee payments
  • Coordinate payroll matters with local payroll providers
  • Review the payroll summary / GL reports and post them in SAP
  • Prepare account reconciliations and audit transactional data monthly
  • Post payroll journal entries and perform year-end activities
  • Reconcile government remittance accounts
  • Work with HR on benefit changes and leaves of absence
  • Provide positive communication with employees to resolve payroll queries
  • Generate various reports for internal groups
  • Assist EMEA Operations Manager with special projects as needed

Your profile

  • Educational Qualification:  Bachelor’s / Master’s degree or equivalent training in a related field
  • Experience: 7+ years of experience managing full cycle payrolls for multiple EMEA countries
  • Proficiency in payroll processing for multiple EMEA countries, especially Germany, UK, France and the Netherlands
  • Knowledge of basic accounting practices and procedures
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
  • Understanding of payroll principles, practices, regulations, and procedures
  • Knowledge of SOX controls within the Payroll process
  • Ability to work independently and resolve issues timely
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask on competing priorities
  • Must be a team player with a high level of accountability
  • Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Excel
  • Fluent in English and German, further languages such as French, Italian or Spanish a plus
