Your Role

As the Head of Software, you will drive the evolution of our Battery Management Systems and other software platforms and technologies while ensuring the highest levels of team performance, process efficiency, and product quality. You’ll serve as the primary escalation point for engineering managers, providing strategic direction and technical leadership across product development, platform architecture, and software engineering. This influential leadership role reports directly to the Chief Engineering Officer. You will be responsible not only for overseeing our software products and technology strategy but also for maintaining a healthy, agile, and innovative software development environment.

Working closely with product owners, software architects, agile coaches, engineering managers, and testing teams, you will translate complex technical challenges into innovative and market-leading solutions. Your mandate will be to continuously improve processes, drive technical excellence, and ensure seamless collaboration across all aspects of software development—ultimately aligning our products with customer needs and business objectives.

Your future tasks at a glance

  • Oversee product and technology strategy: Define and execute the software roadmap, ensuring alignment with market trends, customer demands, and company goals.
  • Act as the escalation point for engineering managers: Provide support and guidance on technical, process, and personnel issues, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Supervise platform development: Ensure the architecture, design, and implementation of our platforms are robust, scalable, safe, and secure.
  • Oversee and enhance agile methodologies: Manage sprint progress, backlog, and cross-functional roadmap planning to optimize team performance and product delivery.
  • Mentor cross-functional roles: Guide Product Owners in shaping the backlog and prioritizing requirements, collaborating with Software Architects to maintain architectural coherence.
  • Ensure continuous improvement: Establish feedback loops to monitor team health and productivity, enhancing technical skills, agility, and morale.
  • Manage interdisciplinary collaboration: Facilitate communication between technical teams (software, hardware, systems, testing) and other functions (product management, customer support, business development).
  • Represent technical excellence: Act as the primary representative of the software team, communicating technical updates to other departments and business teams.

What you bring with you

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in software development, ideally in the automotive field or similar domains with mission-critical products, with at least 4 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven track record of managing complex software projects and leading cross-functional teams in agile environments.
  • Expertise in modern software development practices, including agile methodologies, backlog management, and CI/CD.
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on technical insights, guiding both high-level direction and day-to-day operations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills, with experience mentoring diverse technical teams.
  • Passion for fostering a culture of innovation, quality, and continuous improvement in software development.
