Freelance Designer

Are you interested to contribute to an early stage venture creating human experiences at the intersection of cutting edge technology, humanity and nature?

We are looking for a freelance designer who’s deeply interested in latest technological developments (AI, blockchain, neuroscience, etc.) and passionate to contribute to a new generation of “popup villages” designing unique experiences.

The whole Zuzalu movement began in 2023 around Vitalik Buterin (“Why I Built Zuzalu”) and has branched out in many of such ZuVillages.
If you search for ZuBerlin (@ZuBerlinCity on X) you will find visuals from our last experience in Berlin. We are currently organizing the next event in June 2025 and looking for someone to support with the design language and implementation of the landing page.

You will support the founding team on a freelance basis with various tasks surrounding design and visual appearance:

• Take an active role in the creative process, from brainstorming to final delivery
• Review and discuss current design language on websites and media
• Outline a structured design system and branding guidelines for all visual communication
• Implement an adaptable landing page for ZuBerlin 2.0 in June
• Create assets and design elements, also using state-of-the-art AI tooling
• Optional: design visuals and brand communication for AI agents
• Be ad-hoc available for further small design jobs and implementations

• Proficiency in web design tools (like Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, etc.)
• Proven product design skills with experience in digital UIs and web
• Strong understanding of UX/UI principles
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, can-do attitude
• Ability to work independently and efficiently
• Fluent in English, German a plus
• Curiosity and eagerness to learn more about web3 technologies
• Being based in Berlin is preferred, but remote work is possible

You have the opportunity to first-hand experience the setup process of an early stage venture in a very flexible and respectful working environment. You can adapt your working hours to your needs and schedule (usually between 5 – 20h/w). Further, you will learn to use state-of-the art software product including a Pro license for your LLM-provider of choice.
