Introduction

The Supply Chain Fulfillment team is responsible for the Inventory, Build, Test, and Ship processes for 100% of IBM Z Brand Systems sold worldwide. Additionally, we produce and ship 100% of all Used and Certified Pre-Owned appliances, Storage, Power, and Z products. We also have a Services team that supports unique, ongoing, and one-time hardware builds for internal research/development teams and external customers.

Your Role and Responsibilities

The Manufacturing Engineering Early Professional role is responsible for performing tasks according to established build and integration procedures, without supervision (following training and/or certification). A high level of independent judgment and proficiency is required.

Individuals in this role must possess a broad range of technical expertise and an understanding of interdepartmental activities impacting complex integration workflows. This position requires an in-depth understanding of IBM and OEM IT hardware to successfully integrate, build, and repair systems and components. The employee uses judgment in choosing tasks and routines.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Knowledge and understanding of power and mainframe hardware.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, logistics, inventory control, and high-quality deliverables.
  • Strong communication skills, solid innovation and agile foundations, and experience in organizational and administrative tasks.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage workload to meet commitments within defined schedules.
  • Detail-oriented and client-focused.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing conditions to meet target deliverables and ship dates.

  • Good communication skills
