Security Software Engineer

About Netflix

Netflix is one of the world’s leading entertainment services, with 283 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films, and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause, and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

Every time you watch a show or play a game on Netflix, the Platform Security team is quietly working to keep your data and the company’s systems secure.

The Role

Netflix’s streaming service, our games, and our studio are backed by an outstanding engineering organization and a unique security culture. By developing secure-by-default infrastructure and guiding engineers toward the most effective security practices, we favor rapid innovation over strict controls.

The Platform Security Team builds and runs foundational security services, such as cryptography, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and workload identity. You can help us build on our existing services and support new features for Netflix.

Your day-to-day work will focus on:

  • Designing, building, and supporting features in our workload identity service to manage the identities of applications, hardware, and other entities.
  • Contributing to other security services, including those that provide cryptography and PKI certificates company-wide.
  • Once familiar with the team’s work, joining the on-call rotation to support these services.

Platform Security is an established, cohesive team where you’ll have the support to do your best work. We strive for a positive, supportive work environment that values collaboration over individual achievement.
