(Senior) Backend Engineer

About This Role

We’re looking for a talented and experienced Senior Backend Engineer (f/m/x) with a focus on Microservice Architecture to help us shape and scale our core platform. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing resilient and scalable microservices, contributing directly to the foundation of our product.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Develop scalable and efficient microservices using Java Spring Boot and Golang.
• Manage and maintain software infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to ensure high availability and performance.
• Collaborate on system architecture and database design, making key decisions for scalability and performance.
• Implement and maintain security strategies to ensure the resilience and safety of backend systems.
• Identify, document, and communicate technical improvements, driving backend excellence and efficiency.
• Mentor and support Junior Engineers, sharing your knowledge of modern backend development, distributed systems, and containerization.

Your Profile

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Production-level experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Knowledge of distributed software architecture, message brokers, and event-based systems (e.g., Google Pub/Sub).
• Proficient in designing and securing external APIs (RESTful, WebSockets).
• Experience in implementing backend services using Java Spring Boot.
• Production-level experience in relational database design.

Nice-to-have Skills & Experience:

• Experience with backend services using Golang.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform and Google Firebase.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog APM.
• Knowledge of IaC tools like Helm and Terraform.
