“Do you have any questions for us?” – most interviews end that way and most probably you have found yourself in exactly that situation. So how do you go about answering it?
Well, the first rule is: You should have questions prepared!
Why? Because by asking questions, you can show that you are truly interested in the company and want to know more. It also shows the interviewer that you came prepared to the interview and did your research. Secondly, by asking questions you can make sure that you understand everything you need to know about the company, position and team that can help you make the decision if you really want to work there.
So what questions can you ask at the end of the interview? We have prepared some questions for you:
Question 1:
“I understand that the mission of COMPANY NAME is xxx. What projects/initiatives does the company currently focus on to work towards that mission?”
This questions shows that you already understand the mission of the company but that you also want to make sure that they are actually doing things to achieve it. It will also give you insights into their main projects and initiatives.
Question 2:
“What do you like most about the company culture and what would you like to change?”
This question can give you good insights into what works well in the company and what needs some improvement. Depending on the answer this can be a good basis for you to decide if you want to work there.
Question 3:
“What opportunities for career development do you see within this job?”
This question can indicate that you are interested in staying for the long run but that you also want to make sure you get developed and have opportunities for growth there.
Question 4:
“How did the company support the wellbeing of employees during the COVID pandemic?”
This question will show you how this company prioritizes the health of their employees during difficult times and how flexible they react towards unforseen events.
Question 5:
“What catched your attention in my application documents for this job position?”
This question can be helpful to give you some insights into what they liked about you (it is difficult to get feedback afterwards, so use the chance here) but it will also show you what will matter most for that job. Oh and one extra tip: If you ask this question at the end of the interview, you will end it with a positive note on what you bring to the job.
Extra Tip: You can already prepare these questions in advance and write them down in a notebook. Once they ask this question you can take out your notebook and tell them that you have noted down some questions for them (it looks professional and you don’t have to memorize the questions).
Hope these questions will help you during your next interview – go rock it!
